Sydney Harbour, or Port Jackson, opens onto the Tasman Sea through the Heads on Australia's east coast. It is the heart of the Australian summer season for superyachts, which base themselves across the harbour and nearby Pittwater before heading north to Queensland and the Great Barrier Reef or out into the Pacific for the southern winter, and it is the starting point of the annual Sydney Hobart yacht race.
