Panama joins the Caribbean and the Pacific through its canal, with Colón and the Caribbean anchorages at one end and Panama City and the Gulf of Panama at the other. Yachts come here to transit between the two oceans, often after cruising the San Blas islands, and westbound boats gather in the Gulf of Panama, where the Las Perlas islands are the usual last stop before the crossing to the Galápagos.
